Anritsu MW9076J Overview

The Anritsu MW9076 series is a small and lightweight optical time domain reflectometer (mini-OTDR) for measuring loss and locating faults in optical fiber cables at fiber installation and maintenance. It has excellent basic performance specifications including a dynamic range of 45 dB and a world-beating backscatter dead zone of just 8 m. For the best price performance, the series includes four types of main frame, two types of optical channel selector unit and two types of display unit.

MW9076J, MW9076K (0.85m 30nm) These units handle GI fibers. They feature a short dead zone similar to the SM unit. In particular, the GI unit is used for the Ethernet. Because use of the GI unit is expected to quickly spread, measurement of the short distances (up to 300m) of fibers used in 10G Ethernets is being requested. The performance parameter demanded in an OTDR is a short dead zone. These units have a back scattering dead zone of 7m and offer world class performance.
