Keysight / Agilent E4859A Overview
The Agilent E4859A Serial Cell Generator and Analyzer System is used in research and development to characterize the transmission performance of time division multiple access (TDMA) and other burst-mode transmitters and receivers used in digital communication systems. It provides error-performance analysis of all types of burst-mode data needed to make sure the devices will work in the network. TDMA technology is used for upstream transmission in local access networks, such as passive optical networks (PON), fiber to the curb (FTTC), and personal handy phone systems (PHS).
- Generation of all Types of Burst-Mode Data
Multiple E4854A dual serial cell generators can be set up to emulate burst-mode data in a network. Cell length, cell content and cell timing can be varied for each generator to allow characterization of the transmission performance under real network conditions, even for designs using proprietary cell formats.
- Error Performance Analysis of Burst-Mode Data
The E4853A serial cell analyzer measures the bit-error performance of burst-mode cells coming from one of the generators. Both the generator and analyzer are synchronized through auto-adjust.
Features:
- Error-performance analysis of burst-mode data
- Up to 16 serial cell generators
- Cells with mixed PRBS/user-defined pattern
- Variable cell lengths and cell timing
- Bit-rate 170 kb/s to 250 Mb/s (optional 660 Mb/s)
- Auto-adjust cell transfer delay and threshold
