- The AFG 2020 Function Generator is a high-precision synthesized function generator based upon DDS (Direct Digital Synthesis) techniques. The intuitive graphical user interface combines waveform generation and editing in one consistent design enabling you to: Generate highly accurate sine, square, and triangle waveshapes Create arbitrary, modulation, sweep, pulse, and ramp signals.
- Create and modify arbitrary waveforms
- Read a waveform captured on a digital oscilloscope
- All of this without the need for an external computer and software!
- The AFG 2020 uses DDS techniques to generate clean waveforms with low distortion. DDS provides excellent frequency accuracy, stability, resolution, and agility (ability to rapidly change frequency). This makes it ideal for applications which need a pure sine waveform with precise modulation capabilities.
- For pulse applications, the DDS synthesizer can be turned off and a closed-loop VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator) generation technique used. This optimizes the output for fast transitioning waveforms such as square waves and pulses.
